Inauguration Trip Part 2

Hey there gang. We are taking a break from packing and beginning to realize we are heading to the Inauguration. Tonight I talked with Erin (one of friends in Northern VA, we are staying with her and her family). We are excited to be able to visit with some friends while on this trip. There are so many people we want to visit with. We had a great time while living there.

We actually went to President Bush's first Inauguration. The weather was typical January weather. It was about 30 degrees, raining, sleeting, snowing, and yucky. Later that day we got about 5 inches of fresh snow. It was an amazing event to see so many people involved in. It hit us how cool it is to live in a country that peacefully transitions power from one person to another. Of course there were some demonstrators and those that opposed the proceedings but that is another great thing about this country. We were not very close to the actual podium but could zoom in with our camera. Not sure they are allowing those this year.

Its going to be a great time. We are looking forward to it. More to come.
